I have to say it was the best decision I ever made to contact Mike who is able to fulfill my childhood dream to become a guitar player and I highly recommend Mike to anyone who wants to learn guitar or even experienced guitar players who want to improve their skills.
Luckily, I found Mike!
Since I started taking lessons from Mike in 2021, my skills have improved more than I ever imagined. Mike’s teaching method seamlessly incorporates theory/fundamentals into practical application by teaching musical categories and Mike has us play songs that embody the concepts he’s teaching. This approach makes learning theory/fundamentals much more enjoyable.
“In addition to the top-tier instruction, the exposure to recording and the opportunity to play live is such a great experience, and something I would have never expected to get as part of my training. “
“I played in bands throughout my late teens and early 20’s including band jams and gigs and recording and figured I had a pretty good grasp on how to play guitar. Then I started taking lessons with Mike Walsh later in life and realized there was so much more to learn.”
“I was over 50 when I started taking lessons with Mike, am not musically inclined AT ALL and had to juggle a full time job, 2 teenage kids, a wife and all the other distractions life throws at you. Yet, in just after a few months (literally) you'll find yourself playing your first show with other students and recording songs in his studio.”
“Lessons with you, not only create a better physical player, but a conscious one. Your teachings are not just physical, but they are for the mind and soul.”
“As a teacher for more than 30 years, I recognize immediately a good teacher from a superb teacher, and Mike is, without a doubt, a superb music teacher.”
“As a recently retired public school principal, I know what teaching with passion, skill, and expertise looks like. When I started with Mike, I quickly realized that he possessed all of these qualities.”
“Learning how to perform through videos, recording sessions and live shows has been the most motivating for me; it has helped push me to be a better guitarist and has strengthened my sense of accomplishment.”
“When I talk with friends that have played guitar for years, they can’t believe what we have done in only the first year. I am excited to continue to build my skills and know I have the right teacher to help me accomplish my goals.”
“If you want to follow a proven approach to guitar, which is constantly being improved (kinda like a software update for your phone) try learning from Mike Walsh”
“I played guitar on and off (mostly off) for over 40 years and thought I knew what I was doing. WRONG! Mike has taught me about music, about technique, rhythm and harmony but mostly about how professional musicians go about their craft.”
“Mike is a very patient, observant teacher and he will help you make continual progress in your playing and in your understanding of the fretboard and of music generally. “
“I have to say that I’m also very impressed with all the extra offerings Mike has both free and paid, especially during the Covid lockdown when he was doing a multitude of free zoom lessons in addition to the regular schedule for anyone who wanted to attend.”
“I appreciate Mike’s “full picture” approach to guitar lessons.”
“My wife complimented some of my practice the other day by saying “if you sound this much better after one year, I can’t imagine how you’ll sound next year.” I’m excited to find out!”
“As my technique improves, I am able to play stuff that was beyond my grasp just a year ago. Solos are better, rhythm is better, even stage presence. I still have a long way to go, but Mike makes the journey a blast.“
“With a newborn baby at home, it makes finding time to practice even more difficult. Mike has been extremely flexible in adjusting our training schedule to fit my needs so I can reach my goals.”
“Once I engrained Mike’s technique into my way of playing, my overall performance at the instrument rose noticeably, and playing guitar became much easier and more enjoyable.”
“Simply put, learning to play guitar from Mike Walsh is like learning to play basketball from Michael Jordan (Lebron James?)...or quarterback from Tom Brady...or hockey from Wayne Gretzky! :)”
